Joyagoo Shipping to Spain: Aduanas, IVA & Best Practices
Spain is a growing market for Joyagoo buyers, with strong communities in Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia. Spanish customs (Aduanas) apply IVA and duties based on EU-wide thresholds, but local delivery practices differ from other European countries.
Spanish Import Thresholds
| Value (EUR) | IVA (21%) | Aduanas Duty | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 22 | None | None | No import fees |
| 22-150 | Yes | None | IVA only, collected by Correos |
| Over 150 | Yes | Yes | IVA + duty + handling fee |
Correos Delivery System
Correos is Spain's national postal service and handles final delivery for most international shipments. They are reliable but can be slow during peak seasons (August, December).
If you miss a delivery, Correos leaves a notice (avisos de llegada) and holds the package at the nearest office for 15 days. Rural areas may have limited office hours, so plan accordingly.
- EU Tax-Free — Recommended, includes IVA, delivers via Correos or SEUR
- EMS — 10-18 days, reliable to all Spanish regions including islands
- EUB — 12-20 days, economical, good for small parcels
- Avoid DHL to Canary Islands — extra customs complexity and fees
Tips for Spanish Buyers
Always include your NIE or DNI in the shipping address. Spanish customs sometimes reject packages without valid identification numbers. Use the full address format including floor and door number (piso y puerta) for apartment buildings.
Canary Islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, etc.) are outside the EU VAT zone. Shipments there face additional IGIC tax and different customs rules. Use EMS or sea freight for large hauls to the islands.
